4D Proposal

Data Ballet:

A generative art piece based on a true murder report or a fictional story with terrible details. A chapter from a book will be converted into raw  binary data and used to manipulate the art piece generated while a relaxing soundtrack is playing on the background. The whole aim of this idea is to show the relationship between data that computers understand and data we understand. There will be no direct showcasing of the gruesome  details because the whole aim is make the viewer feel nice and relaxed and just let them enjoy the art piece but in the end of the piece there will be a textual disclaimer explaining what the piece was based on. I am mainly investigating the twist in peoples perception and although we live in a digital era if a form of information is used in a way computers understand us humans either know nothing at all or very little about...

References:

My favorite generative art piece by far. This piece by Vladimir Todorovich is based on a novel that talks about a team of astronauts that land on a planet they want to investigate but the whole planet is "alive" and the forest starts to attack back. People that have seen this video and dont know what it is about just say "wow" , "cool" and things like that but have no idea what it is about.Thats why i wanna shock the viewers of my piece in the end.

The Snail on the Slope from Vladimir Todorovic on Vimeo.

A small example of what im trying to do in this project.

This is the binary version of a part of a murder case.

And here is  the textual version:

Tina Baker had vanished before without telling her family where she was going and she was not reported missing for two weeks after she was last seen alive.
The delay would have given Baker all the time he needed to dismember his partner and feed her to the animals who relish meat of any kind - even pork.
Their powerful jaws can crush bone and a they would have been packed off to the slaughterhouse before the police had even arrived to search the farm.
Brookfield Farm at Chobham, Surrey, stretches over 14 acres and includes a landfill site.
It is possible Baker simply buried his wife there or disposed of her at another site miles away.

Another element i will add to the art piece will be this song called miss you by trentemoller.

Finally the art piece will be showcased in the Dome.
